The Savannah Kennel Club ‘s mission is the community’s leading authority on all things dog, acting as the premier resource for dog lovers, from the fancier to the everyday owner. 

 

Our purpose is to improve the human canine bond, promote responsible dog ownership, preserve pure bred dogs, and bring the Savannah canine community together.

 

Since our inception in 1935, The Savannah Kennel Club has enjoyed a rich and vibrant history of protecting and promoting the interests of all breeds of purebred dogs as well as mixed breed dogs. 

 

Our members practice responsible pet ownership and train others in the community how to be a responsible dog owner through our community activities and seminars. As a member in good standing of the American Kennel Club, Inc. , we hold sanctioned matches and dog shows twice a year as well as Responsible Dog Ownership educaiton under the rules of the American Kennel Club.
 

Our members include AKC judges, breeders, trainers, exhibitors, pet owners and dog fanciers, who with their dogs participate in conformation, obedience, rally, herding, agility, breed rescue, tracking, fitness, therapy dog programs, field trials, lure coursing, and working dog sport / schutzhund and enjoy just being good family members.

 

We encourage dogs as family companions; advance canine health and well-being; advocate for dog owner rights; and educate the public about responsible dog ownership.

 

Savannah Kennel Club supports our local canine organizations such as rescues and police k-9 unit. We believe all dogs are special and need to be given a chance – that is why we feature and donate to a different rescue every month.

 

We offer education and fitness programs and facilitate activities such as agility, nose work, obedience, and therapy work. - all geared to create a stronger bond with you and your pup.
